In a Strategic Move, Deutsche Telekom Leverages AI to Fortify Its Cyber Defences Using Cutting-Edge Technology to Safeguard Against Mobile Threats

Listed among Mobile Magazine's top telco companies, Deutsche Telekom reigns as a global telecom leader, boasting a robust annual net revenue of €24.5bn (US$26.7bn) in 2022—a 1.9% YoY surge.

In a groundbreaking initiative, Deutsche Telekom employs artificial intelligence (AI) to scrutinise apps, pre- and post-installation, shielding mobile devices from potential cyber threats.

The APPVISORY Secure App Check service automatically checks applications for security and data protection, providing a defence to the security risk that apps pose for businesses.

Real-time Cyber Protection

With an escalating 15 million malware infections reported to the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), Deutsche Telekom tackles the pressing need for real-time cyber defence through AI-supported solutions like APPVISORY.

"The security of mobile workplaces doesn't allow for a break,” asserts Klaus Werner, Managing Director of Deutsche Telekom Business Customers.

“We therefore rely on AI-supported solutions such as APPVISORY to support our customers with cyber defence in real time."

APPVISORY Integration

As remote and hybrid work models surge, mobiles and laptops become prime targets for cyberattacks, particularly with 90% of Germans using payment apps in 2022 and spam emails targeting banking transactions.

The APPVISORY service uses AI to warn users of potential attacks on devices, to prevent scams and defend payments and information.

Acknowledging the shifting threat landscape, Deutsche Telekom integrates APPVISORY into its portfolio, fortifying its commitment to making mobile working more secure.

"APPVISORY is now part of Deutsche Telekom's portfolio,” shares Sebastian Wolters, APPVISORY CEO. “Business customers can use the service quickly and easily. Together we are making mobile working more secure.”
