Adrian Asher named new CISO at Checkout.com

Adrian Asher brings more than two decades of progressive leadership in cybersecurity to Checkout.com and joins from J.P. Morgan.

Checkout.com, cloud-based global payment solutions provider, has hired J.P. Morgan cybersecurity expert and cloud evangelist Adrian Asher as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and head of cloud architecture. 

Asher brings more than two decades of progressive leadership in cybersecurity to Checkout.com. He joins from J.P. Morgan, where he led global cybersecurity identity in the cloud for the financial services firm. Before that, he held several senior information security positions for financial and cloud-focused organisations, including Microsoft-acquired Skype, the London Stock Exchange Group, HSBC, and Barclays Capital. Asher was also the Executive in Residence for the London arm of the Silicon Valley headquartered venture capital firm, Accel Partners, where he advised and assisted in evaluating new technologies.

Asher says, “My role at Checkout.com is the culmination of rich security and cloud experience at some of the most dynamic organisations in the world. From day one, my mission will be to draw on Checkout.com’s technology, vision for global connected payments and expertise of my colleagues to lead the market in providing…secure payment solutions available to our customers…”

Asher is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, including TedX. He earned a master’s in information security from the University of London and will be based at Checkout.com’s global headquarters in London and will report directly to Checkout.com CTO Ott Kaukver.

Checkout.com launched in 2012 and now has a team of over 1,100 people across 18 offices worldwide.
