How Check Point and Wiz are Unifying Cloud Network Security

Despite the cloud-first nature of most large enterprises, many still operate in complex environments where network and cloud security often function in silos, creating visibility and control gaps.
The result is fragmentation across teams – cloud network security teams find themselves lacking context about cloud-specific risks, while cloud security teams struggle to understand how cloud network security controls protect the organisation’s assets and information.
Aside from impacting communication and work between teams and departments, this environment can give rise to misconfigurations and increased cyber risks.
A new partnership between global leader in cybersecurity solutions, Check Point Software Technologies, and cloud infrastructure security platform Wiz addresses these challenges head on.
Together, the pair intend on mitigating the growing challenges enterprises face when securing hybrid cloud environments by integrating some of the best-in-class cloud network and Cloud Native Application Protection security.
Transforming enterprise risk management
Securing the hybrid cloud is a complex task as enterprises face protecting disparate areas, each with its own specific vulnerabilities. Visibility and control is a key barrier, with data and applications spread across on-premise infrastructure and multiple cloud providers hindering the ability to have a unified view of organisational security posture.
Other challenges include data security as a result of data moving between on-premise and cloud systems, identity and access management, network security, and threat detection and response – hybrid cloud environments are often targeted by attackers looking to exploit their complexity and interconnectedness, for example.
By collaborating, Check Point and Wiz aim to bridge the longstanding gap between cloud network security and CNAPP through deep technological integration to deliver a unified, holistic security solution.
“This partnership between the parties was formalised in order to create a new security paradigm – combining Check Point’s cloud network security expertise with Wiz’s CNAPP leadership to deliver comprehensive protection across hybrid mesh environments,” says Nadav Zafrir, Chief Executive Officer at Check Point.
“Together, we are transforming how organisations manage risk, enabling teams to collaborate with greater efficiency and control.”
Democratising cloud security
Under this strategic business alliance enterprises benefit from the bringing together both companies’ expertise and technology capabilities. Check Point is a leading AI-powered, cloud-delivered cyber security platform provider that protects over 100,000 organisations around the world.
Its Infinity Platform, which enables proactive threat anticipation and quicker response times, includes cloud delivered technologies that secure the workspace, the cloud, the network and operations and services.
Wiz is a leader in CNAPP technology and secures everything that enterprises build and run in the cloud environment. It works globally, including with more than 45% of the Fortune 100, to rapidly identify and remove critical risks in cloud environments.
Combining these strengths will bring several benefits to enterprise customers, say the two companies. These include:
- Unified security insights: Cloud security teams can automatically prevent attacks with access real-time network-driven insights for smarter risk prioritisation.
- Enhanced risk context: Wiz’s advanced risk analysis feeds integrate directly into Check Point’s platform, providing network security teams with actionable recommendations to optimise security coverage and configurations.
- Prioritisation of unsecured assets: Cloud security teams are empowered to identify and address unsecured assets more effectively, leveraging network security data to guide decision making.
- Optimised security operations: Network security teams benefit from tailored recommendations generated by Wiz’s platform, enhancing operational efficiency across hybrid environments.
Assaf Rappaport, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Wiz, says: “Bringing together Wiz’s leading CNAPP technology and Check Point’s expertise in cloud network security enhances visibility and prioritises risks more effectively.
“Our partnership is aimed at ensuring companies can seamlessly protect their network and cloud environments with an integrated, industry-leading solution while continuing to democratise cloud security.”
