Cato Networks has been named a Zero Trust leader by Forrester as it continues to provide SASE solutions in security, cybersecurity strategy and innovation

Cato Networks have been recognised as a leader in The Forrester Wave: Zero Trust Edge Solutions Q3 2023 Report.

The company is a leading provider of the world’s single-vendor SASE platform and, according to Forrester, aligns with three recommended areas for considering zero trust edge (ZTE) solutions: unified and centralised cloud management, a resilient backbone with sophisticated controls and Zero Trust Network Access for remote access.

The report notes: “Cato Networks started with a strong security pedigree and built a global platform of distributed PoPs from which to deliver security as a service. Cato has a strong strategy paired with a truly unified networking and security solution and has shown real security innovation within its single-pass architecture platform.”

Offering ZTE security as a unified service

A term first coined by Forrester, Zero Trust is a grouping of techniques within the cyber sector that assumes that all digital activity has bad intentions. Therefore, everything requires checking and proving the identity of a person connected to a network is valid.

With hybrid working patterns continuing to be the norm for plenty of businesses worldwide, the Zero Trust security approach provides a more secure way to verify and protect valuable data. It enables organisations to reassess the trustworthiness of network participants and prevent cyberattacks earlier as a result.

The Forrester report found that early-adopting reference customers were enthusiastic about Cato Networks’ SASE Cloud. According to the report, “multinationals, financials, and firms looking to consolidate security functions and replace MPLS will find Cato a compelling choice.

“Cato has a strong strategy paired with a truly unified networking and security solution and has shown real security innovation within its single-pass architecture platform.”

Forrester has recommended that customers should consider ZTE solutions that provide unified and centralised cloud management, a resilient backbone with sophisticated controls and use Zero Trust for remote access to replace VPNs.

Working to transform global cyber networks

According to Forrester, ZTE solutions have a combination of Zero Trust network access (ZTNA), secure web gateways (SWGs) and cloud security gateways (CSGs, aka CASBs). A strong ZTNA capability reduces an organisation’s threat surface and works to protect critical data. The best of these solutions can also help discover the applications that you need to protect.

Cato Networks SASE Cloud services earned the highest score in sub-criteria and delivered on having a strong centralised network and security management, as well as providing superior UX services.

The company has 80 or more sites that host ZTE services, with the report finding that its solution authenticates and authorises the user and provides multiple advanced features such as universal ZTNA, interception of all ports and protocols, TCP acceleration and application discovery.

The company’s single-source SASE solution was recently chosen by Carlsberg Group to transform its global network and security infrastructure. Cato’s deployment will span more than 200 locations and 25,000 remote users worldwide. Instead of security appliances, Carlsberg will rely on Cato’s cloud-native security capabilities, including SWG, CASB, DLP, ZTNA, FWaaS, IPS and NGAM.

“We are honoured to be recognised by Forrester as a “Leader” in this Wave. Cato architected a platform that was purpose-built for ZTE and SASE, one that is valued by our thousands of customers and partners for its simplicity, agility, security posture, and optimal performance,” says Shlomo Kramer, CEO and co-founder of Cato Networks.

“We are happy to see their excitement reflected by leading industry analysts’ reports.”
