Commvault Integrates Industry Giants into Security Solutions

By collaborating with industry leaders, the strengths of each partner can be integrated
Welcoming Acante, Dasera, Google Cloud, Splunk, and Wiz, customers will be able to use these leading providers solutions alongside their Commvault package

Cloud security provider Commvault is preparing for the new ecosphere of surging attacks by expanding its partnerships to include some of the biggest players in cyber.

This expansion involves strategic integrations with security partners: Acante, Dasera, Google Cloud, Splunk, and Wiz, and will aim to enhance cyber resilience across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.

This integration will enable users to choose from solutions provided by the partners to apply to their own security on top of Commvault’s solutions.

Cloud protection plus

The feature is achieved through bi-directional integrations that allow security operations teams to better understand risks and threats, defend against them, and recover with confidence.

The primary motivation behind it is to empower organisations to better identify potential threats, understand the locations of sensitive data, and accelerate recovery processes across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.

This issue of visibility is an increasingly pertinent one seeing as Gigamon's latest Hybrid Cloud Security Survey shows unseen cyber attacks have increased 20% year on year.

“Commvault is committed to partnering with industry leaders in cyber security, data security posture management (DSPM), and AI with one goal in mind – to help customers advance their security posture,” said Rajiv Kottomtharayil, Chief Product Officer, Commvault.

The integration with partners like Acante, Dasera, and Wiz are able to beef up any gaps in data security and governance, while the collaboration with Google Threat Intelligence leverages AI-powered insights to enhance proactive defence strategies, potentially reducing response times to emerging threats. Splunk's real-time operational intelligence further strengthens the overall security posture.

“It takes a village to fight today’s cyber threats, and through these integrations, we help enable our customers to build a bridge towards true organisational resilience.”

This joining of skills is something that users of cybersecurity services have been increasingly asking for. A 2024 ISG showed that UK enterprises are striving to get the big picture on cybersecurity through the adoption of various security tools into a unified framework.

While fragmentation of companies allows organisations to shop around for one that best suits their situation, it can often lead to a complex web of solutions that can be challenging to integrate, manage, and monitor effectively.

Equally, from a Commvault perspective, this integration strengthens Commvault's market position by giving customers teh ability to achieve greater added security and control all from its platform.

By collaborating with industry leaders, the strengths of each partner can be integrated, thereby improving the overall security posture of its customers.

Partner's offerings
  • Acante: Acante's data access governance solution for modern data and AI clouds empowers data teams to radically simplify and dramatically accelerate precise, secure, and compliant access to their fast-growing critical data.
  • Dasera: Offers DSPM solutions that help companies identify where sensitive structured and unstructured data is, automate data security and governance, and rapidly find, flag, and fix data security risks.
  • Google Threat Intelligence: Provides unmatched threat visibility and actionable context powered by AI to help organisations proactively set defenses, hunt efficiently, and investigate and respond to new and novel threats. With a Google Threat Intelligence licensed API key, customers can realise a seamless experience to investigate Commvault detected threats without jumping between tabs.
  • Splunk: Enhances threat detection and response capabilities via Splunk's advanced data analytics platform, providing real-time operational intelligence for comprehensive security insights.
  • Wiz: Delivers a consolidated cloud security platform that excels in providing clarity, visibility, and context, enabling users to secure their cloud environments.

Attack risks within the cloud

The expansion of Commvault's cybersecurity ecosystem is timely and critical. The digital landscape is increasingly complex, with organisations facing sophisticated cyber threats.

A recent study commissioned by Commvault and conducted by GigaOm found that only 13% of organisations are adequately equipped to defend against and recover from cyberattacks, with 54% expressing full confidence in their recovery capabilities.

This highlights the urgent need for comprehensive solutions that integrate various security tools to build robust cyber resilience.

Commvault's approach of forming strategic partnerships positions to make a one-stop solution for cyber resilience may set a precedent in an age where cloud environments are becoming increasingly complex.
