Cybersecurity and cloud startup Wiz has announced the appointment of Fazal Merchant as its new President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). According to the company, Merchant will “lead Wiz’s financial strategy and drive operational excellence in support of the company’s unprecedented growth, while also ensuring IPO readiness.”
Merchant joins Wiz as a highly accomplished executive, advisor and board member with close to 30 years’ experience leading and scaling global public and private companies. Prior to joining Wiz, Merchant served as co-CEO of cybersecurity startup Tanium, which specialises in autonomous endpoint management protection that helps businesses protect assets, monitor security and respond to incidents.
Before working at Tanium, Merchant was CFO at DreamWorks Animation SKG and managed the company’s sales to Comcast. He has also held various leadership roles at DirecTV and Ford Motor Company. Merchant currently serves on the boards of Ariel Investments, Ryman Hospitality Properties and Warner Bros. Discovery.
