People Moves: Sergej Epp

Sysdig, the real-time cloud security leader, has welcomed former Palo Alto Networks CISO Sergej Epp to its leadership team. Epp, who brings considerable experience from a distinguished career in cybersecurity and leadership positions, takes on the role of Global CISO & Member of the Executive Team. He will serve under the direction of CEO William ‘Bill’ Welch, who joined the company in January 2025.

Epp has worked in security and technology roles for nearly 20 years. His career includes a 10-year stint at Deutsche Bank, where he held several roles including Global Head of Cyber Forensics and Cyber Hygiene Operations. In this position, he was responsible for leading the bank’s cyber forensics and investigations teams across the Americas, Europe and APAC, focused on cyber crime, malware, supply chain, data loss and fraud. 

He joins Sysdig from Palo Alto Networks where, as CISO, he contributed to securing global organisations, building threat intelligence partnerships, strategy and roadmaps, architecture and cyber defence. 

Sysdig, which helps major companies including IBM stop cloud attacks in real time, is focused on building a team of exceptional leaders who can deliver transformational outcomes for customers and partners. At the company, Epp will lead cybersecurity strategy, operations and risk management initiatives.
