TCS and Google Cloud Join for Solution to Secure the Cloud
Long time partners TCS and Google Cloud are collaborating to offer two new solutions to secure the growing threats posed to cloud environments – the TCS Managed Detection and Response solution and the TCS Secure Cloud Foundation solution.
These innovations aim to beef up the ability of companies to detect and tackle cyber threats, applicable even beyond cloud scenarios. Consequently, TCS’s clientele stand to benefit from cutting edge security solutions across its commercial landscapes.
“TCS and Google Cloud have partnered for many years to help customers harness the power of the cloud and AI to grow and transform their business,” says Peter Bailey, Vice President and General Manager of Security Operations at Google Cloud. “The integration of Google Security Operations into TCS MDR and Secure Cloud Foundation solutions is a natural evolution of this partnership."
This move comes amid the emergence of Gen AI. Although also beneficial, it's use by attackers has served as as a clarion call for a revamped and robust cybersecurity architecture, highlighting the dire need for heightened cyber resilience.
AI-powered defence
2024's cyber danger landscape remains in a state of flux, escalating in complexity with bad actors deploying AI to undermine both industry giants and individual users.
Equally, the growing complexity and size of a company's cloud use has meant that the attacks surface has expanded exponentially, making it harder to secure, and allowing many attacks to go through undetected.
“Businesses are rapidly transforming and they must secure their transformation journey to grow with confidence,” asserts Ganesa Subramanian, the mastermind behind TCS’s Cybersecurity Business Group.
Google and TCS' response is therefore seen through the prism of AI, which is capable of mitigating the amplified threat onslaught.
“TCS’ expanded partnership with Google Cloud provides two unique, AI-powered, cross-industry, enterprise solutions to help our clients combat advanced cybersecurity threats. Our deep industry knowledge, comprehensive portfolio, and ability to scale on Google Cloud enables us to rapidly create value for our customers," explains Nidhi Srivastava, Vice President and Executive Champion for Google Cloud at TCS.
The TCS Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solution draws from Google’s Security Operations wisdom, promising swift threat identification and neutralisation, augmented by TCS’s nuanced threat perception. This confluence aims to render around-the-clock surveillance and threat counteraction.
Similarly, the TCS Secure Cloud Foundation pledges to fortify cloud security across various climates by incorporating Google Cloud’s formidable security apparatus, enabling TCS and their customers to leverage Google SecOps planet-level scalability, searchability, integrated and AI-assisted investigation and response workflows, and applied Mandiant Threat Intelligence.
Employing AI, alongside machine learning and automation, this solution envisages a paradigm where cybersecurity nuances are not just reacted to but anticipated and pre-emptively addressed.
Enhancing enterprise-wide threat perception
TCS' solutions have already aided a prominent German bank in navigating the minefield of cyber governance through automation and precision-led security policy enforcement.
The gamut of cybersecurity services offered by TCS is comprehensive, spanning consulting, implementation, management across crucial focal areas such as identity and access management, risk governance, digital incident forensics, and cloud security, among others. Yet this addition will go on to further secure future threats.
The partnership's focal point now pivots to exploiting Google Cloud’s AI-centric security offerings, spanning across threat intelligence and operational to cloud-based security governance, designed to underpin client transformations securely and adhere to regulatory demands.
