Palo Alto Networks Partners with Wipro on AI Cyber Defence
The damning impact of cyber attacks that often paralyse operations, inflict significant financial loss, incur irreversible loss of trust and in some extreme cases push organisations to bankruptcy is very visible in today’s global news.
Combining their war chest against modern adversaries are Wipro and Palo Alto Networks, as they expand their long-standing partnership to introduce a new AI-driven managed detection and response (MDR) service, helping organisations strengthen cyber resilience.
The enhanced partnership brings together Palo Alto Networks’ Cortex XSIAM platform with Wipro’s CyberShieldSM managed security services, delivering a more intelligent and proactive approach to security operations.
Simplifying complex security workflows with the power of AI, machine learning and automation, the new offering enables organisations to predict and prevent cyber attacks while improving the speed and accuracy of threat detection and response.
With the tool filtering out genuine threats from the ever-pervasive background noise, security teams can focus on the incidents that matter most, boosting operational efficiency and reducing response times.
“As organisations navigate a rapidly evolving landscape marked by accelerated AI adoption, the need for robust governance and strategic cost management has never been greater,” says Satish Yadavalli, Global Business Head – Cloud, Infrastructure and Security Services at Wipro.
“Together with Palo Alto Networks, we are able to transform security operations through AI, automation and platform consolidation, strengthening organisations’ security environments while optimising costs and improving outputs.”
AI led security as hot commodity
Understanding the effectiveness of AI in combating the techniques of bad actors, the demand from businesses for integrated, AI-led cybersecurity solutions are on the rise.
The combined offering swoops in to capitalise on this demand.
The two companies’ existing collaboration across cloud, network and security transformation, enables clients to consolidate security operations under a unified framework.
Supporting the new MDR service are Wipro’s WEGA and WINGS AI delivery platforms, which form part of Wipro Intelligence – the company’s suite of AI-powered platforms and solutions.
These technologies enhance workflow orchestration, automate service transitions and enable security operations to scale more effectively across complex enterprise environments.
By integrating advanced AI capabilities throughout the security lifecycle, organisations can streamline operations while improving visibility across increasingly diverse IT ecosystems.
“AI-manufactured attacks require an AI-powered defence and our partnership with Wipro helps deliver just that,” says Simone Gammeri, Senior Vice President and Chief Partnership Officer at Palo Alto Networks.
“Our combined capabilities empower mutual customers to consolidate tools, eliminate data silos and leverage AI and automation to reduce noise, accelerate response from days to minutes and ultimately stop even the most sophisticated threats.”
Advanced cyber defence
The new MDR services are delivered through Wipro's network of eight Cyber Defense Centers (CDCs), powered by the company’s proprietary SOC Grand Unified Runbook Unleashed framework.
This unique approach enables attack and alert agnostic analysis, helping organisations strengthen threat detection while creating more resilient security operations.
The benefits of the enhanced partnership are already being demonstrated in practice.
Wipro and Palo Alto Networks recently worked with a leading European gaming and entertainment company to modernise its security operations within a complex enterprise environment, which led to measurable improvements in productivity while accelerating incident response and reducing operational costs.
The success of the project highlights how AI-powered MDR services can help organisations strengthen cyber security, simplify operations and improve business outcomes in an increasingly challenging threat landscape.
As cyber attacks continue to evolve in scale and sophistication, the expanded partnership positions Wipro and Palo Alto Networks to help enterprises adopt intelligent, automated security operations that are built for the future.
