SonicWall partners with endpoint protection specialist CrowdStrike to offer managed detection and response capabilities through managed service providers

Two cybersecurity firms have joined forces to deliver enterprise-grade protection to small and medium-sized businesses through a new managed detection and response offering.

SonicWall, which provides network security and threat detection systems, has partnered with CrowdStrike, a provider of cloud-based endpoint protection platforms, to launch a managed detection and response (MDR) service that combines security monitoring, threat detection and incident response into a single managed offering.

Key Facts: SonicWall and CrowdStrike Partnership
  • 30+ years: SonicWall's experience in cybersecurity sector
  • 24/7: Hours of operation for SonicWall's Security Operations Centre
  • 2: Number of deployment environments supported (cloud and hybrid)

The service integrates CrowdStrike's Falcon platform, which uses AI to detect and respond to threats at the endpoint level – including laptops, servers and mobile devices – with SonicWall's round-the-clock security operations centre.

SonicWall and CrowdStrike target growing SMB security market

The partnership targets managed service providers (MSPs) – IT firms that remotely manage their customers’ technology infrastructure and security systems – who serve small and medium-sized businesses.

The service enables MSPs to offer advanced security capabilities without investing in their own security operations infrastructure. This includes continuous monitoring of customer systems, automated threat detection, and expert incident response support.

The collaboration marks a shift in how enterprise security technology is being adapted for smaller organisations. By combining SonicWall’s managed security services with CrowdStrike’s endpoint detection and response capabilities, the offering aims to make enterprise security tools accessible to businesses with limited IT resources.

Daniel Bernard, Chief Business Officer, CrowdStrike

SonicWall brings three decades of cybersecurity experience to the partnership. The company operates a dedicated threat research centre focused on identifying new cyber attacks and developing countermeasures. This research capability supports protection across cloud, hybrid and traditional IT environments.

AI-powered protection combines endpoint and network security

The offering integrates CrowdStrike’s artificial intelligence systems, which analyse endpoint behaviour to identify potential threats, with SonicWall’s security operations expertise. This combination allows MSPs to monitor customer environments, hunt for threats and respond to incidents.

The service builds on SonicWall’s experience in network security and managed services. The company’s security operations centre provides round-the-clock monitoring and response capabilities to supplement CrowdStrike’s automated threat detection.

Together, we are providing MSPs with the solutions to deliver scalable, effective AI-powered cybersecurity

For MSPs, the partnership provides access to enterprise security tools without requiring significant infrastructure investment. The solution includes real-time monitoring capabilities and threat hunting features designed to identify potential security breaches before they impact business operations.

Partnership responds to evolving security landscape

The collaboration comes as small and medium-sized businesses face increasing cyber threats. The integrated solution aims to provide these organisations with access to security capabilities previously available primarily to larger enterprises.

Bob VanKirk, Chief Executive Officer and President of SonicWall, says: “We’re thrilled to partner with CrowdStrike to deliver SMBs the best of both worlds: industry-leading AI-native endpoint security and the trusted, expert-managed services that SonicWall is known for.”

The partnership leverages SonicWall’s position in the SMB market and its established relationships with managed service providers. The company’s partner-first approach has helped it build a network of MSPs who provide security services to smaller organisations.

SonicWall’s existing capabilities include protection across cloud, hybrid and traditional environments, with real-time security monitoring for remote, mobile and cloud-enabled users. The addition of CrowdStrike’s endpoint protection extends these capabilities to provide comprehensive coverage across multiple attack vectors.

Daniel Bernard, Chief Business Officer at CrowdStrike, says: “SonicWall’s large SMB presence and their long-standing commitment to supporting MSPs make this partnership a natural fit. Together, we are providing MSPs with the solutions to deliver scalable, effective AI-powered cybersecurity that is easy to deploy and tailored to the unique needs of SMBs.”
